Charles Rudolph Bell was born November 3, 1931 in Atlanta, GA to the union of Albert Hilliard Bell and Surnelia Presley. He passed on December 20, 2024. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Raymond Bell and Dorothy Bell Scott.
Charles grew up in the Old Fourth Ward where he attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and was a member of the Big Bethel AME Church. He graduated in the first graduating class of George Washington Carver Vocational School and later attended Morris Brown College through his Junior year.
Charles enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1951, sailing aboard the U.S.S. Hollister as Petty Officer 2nd Class Electrician and was Honorably Discharge in 1955.
His employment included being a Taxicab Driver, USPS Carrier, Cost Accountant for Days Inn and Aircraft Builder for Lockheed Martin. He retired in 1988 and Golfing became his passion and pursuit.
He was married to the former Emma Jean Jackson and to this union was born Charles Rudolph (Chuck) and Carla Ruth.
