Born July 1 st , 1992 to Michael Todd and Lana Kaye Mehaffy, Michael Patrick Mehaffy brought love and joy to his family.
Much like his grandmother for whom he was named, Patricia Mehaffy, he was gentle and kind, always willing to help to the best of his abilities. From the time he could walk,
he nurtured and cared for all living things. Inspired by this, he aspired to earn his Associates Degree in Nursing to follow his lifelong dream of becoming a trauma nurse;
he began his journey to do so after spending many years devoted to building a life he fought for and was proud of with his wife whom he adored and loved with all his heart,
Caitlin.
He was raised in rural Missouri outside of Saint Louis, and continued to share his light with all he knew. In high school, he joined the J-ROTC program, inspired by a close
family friend, Gary Miller, in which he held many titles he was proud of. With this fire in him, he begged his parents to to sign for him to enlist at the age of 17 to the United
States Air Force and attend Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base; which he accomplished upon graduating from Saint Clair High School, class of 2010.
He adores his nieces, Chloe Elizabth, daughter of his sister, now Megan Jeglum-Mehaffy and her husband Ben Jeglum, and Jennifer Lynn, daughter of his brother,
James Andrewjeski and his wife Andrea Andrewjeski.
Life took its twists and turns, and he met his wife in 2011. They married May 27, 2014, and cherished each other fiercely. Together they shared much love and purchased their
home in 2016. They brought much love into their home through their shared love for animals, adopting Lilly in 2011, Slate in 2017, and Charlie in 2022.
Michael tragically passed away on the morning of August 21 st , 2025, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was surrounded by his wife, brother and sister-
in-law, and his loving parents.
He touched many lives, leaving behind a legacy of love and ambition. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Lana, his brother James, his sister Megan, and his wife Caitlin
and their beloved dog, Slate.
On the other side of life, he joins his grandmother Patricia, step-grandmother Wanda, grandfather Richard, his sister Marylynne and her daughter Charley Lanae, and his
beloved dogs, Lilly and Charlie.
This difficult journey was made bearable by many strong, caring, and dedicated people, especially one Tomeka Walton, to whom the family is deeply grateful for her kind
manner.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate blood, donate to your local animal shelter, and fight to bring awareness to motorcycle safety. The family wishes you to
share your love and memories in place of condolences.
